Travel Writing

Travel writing is not only an art, but it is also an experiential craft.  Why not tap into Minton’s experiences of living with tribes, sleeping in dung huts, hiking through the Amazon?  As for all of those trips that fill most’s bucket lists?  Been there, done that…several times. As a spa critic I have had the luxury of visiting and being pampered in a variety of five star venues. However, after the task was complete, I journeyed out to hike through the vineyards, dine on street food or at a local family’s home.  I have been the lap to various babies and have cooked with skillful grannies.  I have spear fished for dinner, built a raft, dug out a canoe and made mouthwatering cheviche on a junket.

Additionally, I have guided trips: venues with a higher energetic vibration,  Wellness trips with hiking, biking, painting, cooking and journal writing.  I have even lived with cannibals in Iryan Jaya.

My published stories have been various, humorous, educational and carefully crafted to the demographic for which the piece is written.  Travel on a shoe-string, luxury, bleisure (business and leisure travel), family, honeymoons, around the world continent leaping.  My travel writing comes with rich photography, stories of humanity, occasions of luxury and detail to serve as a guide when required.

Content is Marketing at its Best

professional writingRich content that is accurate, informative and compelling is one sure fire way to rank well in Google searches. Moreover, unlike advertising, content can be used over and over again on a company website, in social media, in marketing collateral pieces and in correspondence with spa guests. Content not only gets page rankings up for a topic, brand or campaign, it also provides the reader with an immediate and useful tool.  Content directs action, answers questions and provides solutions. In a climate where consumers are savvy and invest in research, they crave details.

What is the best procedure?  Where to find the correct ingredients?  How much time will this take?  Where did this practice come from?  Are there studies to back up the claims?  So many questions to be answered.  Rich writing covers all of this and more in a format that is easy to digest.
